Seeing Stars stands out in this race of youngsters and debutants after producing a very strong debut effort here earlier this month, finishing second in what looks a solid contest. That form has since been franked, making it comfortably the best on offer in this field.

She is open to significant improvement on her second start, has a plum draw, and clearly handled the track well last time. With Callum Shepherd booked and very little to fear from the remainder of the field, Seeing Stars looks primed to go one better today and get off the mark in good style.

Reason for Tip

Interesting little race this one and one who catches the eye as a dark Horse is Great Dance from the Williams yard. Very nicely bred and foaled from Mullins’ smart hurdler Let’s Dance. Great Dance romped debut NHF comfortably but was down the field lto in higher grade. Goes hurdling for the first time and given his close relation to Let’s Dance, should take to the obstacles well first time round. Yard does alright here at this course and this youngster has the benefit of a top jockey aboard in Harry Cobden. Not written out of this if clearing the hurdles cleanly and at 16/1, looks a bit of value today.

Great Dance is an interesting outsider in this contest. He is very nicely bred, being closely related to Mullins’ smart hurdler Let’s Dance, and made an eye-catching winning debut in a NHF before finding things tougher in higher grade last time.

This marks his hurdling debut, and given his pedigree, he is expected to take well to the obstacles. The Williams yard does well here, and the booking of Harry Cobden is a notable positive. At 16/1, he looks capable of outrunning his odds and could easily get involved if jumping cleanly.

Five year old Nazare has been in superb form of late completing a quickfire double in good style and now bids for hattrick today. Up another 4lb but won even with trouble in running lto and so capable of even better. Has looked very strong of late and represents a top yard with a decent jockey booking. Very likely winner.

Now an eight year old, Egbert has boots of experience but was a bit disappointing at the end of last season and final start last March was pulled up. However, that was a Grade 3, this is a Class 2 and thats a noticeable drop in race quality. On old form has everything needed and more to win this, however this is seasonal debut and will need to go well fresh. This isnt a strong race and wouldn’t take a great deal to win it so Egbert has a solid chance under a Jack Tudor ride.

Unexposed youngster from the powerful Henderson yard who was very mid table on three hurdle runs last year and now goes chasing for the first time on handicap debut on first start since April. Does have a break to contend with but stable knows how to ready them and the switch to fences and relatively weak handicap entry point could release this youngsters talent. Great jockey aboard in Freddie Gordon and this is a pretty open race. Ground and trip are suited and has a decent chance if going well over fences first time of asking.

Two year old Havana Jag is one of the most unexposed horses in this lineup and has been largely progressive at the figures in first four starts. This is a relatively weak nursery and with so much progression still likely, has a chance of improving beyond this field in this. Does have a wide draw to overcome but has started well and should get position when coming across to the rail. Has never finished out of the top 3 at this track and enjoys it here. Good jockey aboard in George Wood and Havana Jag wouldn’t be a surprise winner.
