Reason for Tip

Six year old Prince Quattro used to be a hurdler and has been switched to the flat in the latter half of this year. Has been knocking on the door recently with form of 322 in last two starts and looks bound to win a race soon, and today seems the perfect chance. Has a good draw over a trip that he is effective over and this race isn’t an overly tough assignment. Represents a top yard enjoying a very good spell and has a good jockey in Pat Cosgrave. Does have risks attached given the serial nature of the close calls without winning, but this boy has posted consistently progressive figures on all four of his last starts and it likely wouldn’t take much more of an improvement to win this race. Best chance in a while today and is taken to get the job done.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Lazare De Star – 12.10 Leopardstown (6/5)

This looks a fascinating contest featuring several unexposed types, but Lazare De Star was the one who really caught the eye last time out. Second in a point-to-point before being snapped up for just under €200,000, he made his rules debut earlier this month when finishing second to the talented Saint Baco.

Both horses pulled well clear of the remainder, and Lazare De Star shaped with plenty of promise throughout. That run suggests significant improvement is still to come, and with normal progression he sets a strong standard here.

He represents a powerful Gordon Elliott yard with an excellent record at Leopardstown, and stable jockey Jack Kennedy takes the ride. With conditions to suit and further progress expected, Lazare De Star looks a very strong NAP and a likely winner.

Ritaan is a huge price at 33/1 and this looks a wide open trappy little race today. Rittan showed fair ability in first three runs which were on the flat and made hurdle debut lto on fourth start at Sandown. Was last that day but that was a very warm Class 2 and drops two grades into Class 4 company today. Needs to relax a little and if jumping a bit cleaner from the first run, could appreciate the easier race and on more suited ground, would be silly to complete write this youngster off. This isn’t a strong race and with progression still very likely, particularly in this code, Ritaan could be challenging the field in this race and is definitely capable of outrunning those huge odds of 33/1.

Top Of Pleinmont – 4.50 Southwell (9/1 EW)

Top Of Pleinmont is a three-year-old who showed his ability when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton two starts ago after a series of near misses. His latest run at Southwell was disappointing, but that came over a longer trip than ideal, which clearly didn’t suit.

He drops back to his preferred 1m4f today — the same distance as his Wolverhampton win — which looks a major positive. He has a good draw, Pat Cosgrave is booked, and the yard continues to tick along nicely.

While he does have something to prove against a few rivals, his price reflects that. If reproducing his Wolverhampton form, Top Of Pleinmont could easily outrun his odds and looks a solid each-way Dark Horse.

Six year old Rula Bula is largely consistent, particularly in the beginning of the season generally. Returned on seasonal debut lto when scoring comfortably at Carlisle in a Class 4. Handicapper has put her up 6lb for that success and this is a slightly warmer race which is why the odds aren’t shorter than 7/2. However, should strip fitter for that seasonal run out, has good course form and often runs well here and both trip and ground are ideally suited. Represents an inform yard with a great jockey aboard in Jonjo. Might be a tougher assignment than last time, and up in the weights, but Rula Bula is capable of scoring again today.

Low mileage five year old who has been progressive this season. Third on seasonal debut in October when going over hurdles for the first time before going on to win lto at Windsor. Showed good improvement that day and i don’t think we’ve seen the end of the progression. Runs same trip here today and over the same ground as the win lto. Has ran here once on debut on the flat and so does know the course and should cope fine today. This isn’t an overly strong race and Tiddesley Wood is more than capable of completing the double. Yard in decent form and a good jockey aboard in J J Burke. Big chance.

Reason for Tip

Andashan has shown promise and ability in recent runs and is a previous scorer in a maiden at Kempton back in February. Only two runs so far this season, a third here at Newbury on seasonal return and then a very strong second lto at Haydock behind a very smart type. That was first time over 2m3f and it seemed to suit very well and yard have opted for a 2m4f race here which looks a good choice. Generally a very clean hurdler and usually puts up a good run. Has good course form here, remains open to progression and is on a very workable mark. Yard in fantastic form currently and Freddie Gordon who’s aboard is also a man in a good spell. Lots to like today, should be fully primed for this and should be bang there at the end.

Reason for Tip

Five year old with plenty of ability which was shown when winning incredibly easily back in November at Wolverhampton. Got hit with a 10lb rise for that and has struggled a little since with form of 835 since that win. Remains off the same mark today and we’ve seen in last two starts that Al Muqdad has looked a bit sharper and getting used to the new weight. Wasn’t a long way fifth lto and remains competitive. This is arguable a weaker race and despite being 9/1, is far from written off. There’s not a lot to shout about some in this field and the principal in the market is attempting a four timer after another rise. Would be no surprise to see Al Muqdad run a big race today under a David Nolan ride.

🍀 Lucky 15 Tips Today

Couldbeaweapon – 12.18 Catterick

A very consistent eight-year-old with form figures of 11232, Couldbeaweapon rarely runs a bad race and always gives his running. His second at Sedgefield last time was a solid effort and he drops back in class here, which looks significant.

He remains on a workable mark in this Class 5, the yard are in good form, and Tom Midgley’s 3lb claim is another positive. Proven over the trip and with ground conditions to suit, he looks a major player.

Koktail Divin – 1.20 Leopardstown (11/4)

Trainer: Henry De Bromhead
Jockey: Darragh O’Keeffe

Koktail Divin has taken well to fences this season, finishing second on both chasing starts so far at Down Royal and Punchestown. He remains very unexposed in this discipline and looks open to plenty more improvement.

The slight drop back to 2m5f should suit, and he represents a stable with a strong record at Leopardstown. While a Mullins runner heads the market, Koktail Divin looks the more reliable option based on what we’ve seen this season and rates a strong contender.

Dinofromberlais – 2.22 Leicester (9/2)

Jockey: Sean Bowen

Dinofromberlais won a maiden at Fakenham earlier in the year and has shown steady improvement since returning this term. He ran well when second in a Class 4 last time out and now drops back in grade, which looks ideal.

He remains on a tempting mark, has good form at Leicester, and conditions should suit with some cut in the ground. The Murphy–Bowen combination does very well here, and another bold run is expected.

True Promise – 3.20 Southwell (11/4)

Trainer: Fionn McSharry
Jockey: Oisin McSweeney

True Promise has been knocking firmly on the door this season, with form figures of 2223 since September. He remains well treated and the return to Southwell is a plus, having run well here previously.

Back over 6f, which looks his ideal trip, he also has a good draw and Oisin McSweeney back in the saddle. In what appears a fairly weak race, this looks a great opportunity for True Promise to finally get his head in front.
