Five year old South Dakota Sioux has found a streak of good form and doesnt look quite done yet. Bids for a hattrick here today after winning at Kempton in October in nice style. Only won by a nose lto but as a result has only gone up by 1 and remains on a workable mark today in what is actually a drop in class from lto. Looks very well treated still and gets a plum draw out of stall 1. Rossa Ryan retains the ride and South Dakota Sioux has shown progressive figures in recent victories and is taken to complete the hattrick today. Rossa and the Butler yard have a 33% strike rate when combining and Rossa has a fantastic course record too.

Seven-year-old Tzarmix returned this season in some style, bolting up at Ludlow after a six-month break by over 7 lengths. Back over the same 3m trip, on the same preferred ground conditions, and against another very beatable field, he looks primed to follow up.

Yes, he can be inconsistent — but all signs suggest he has come back a better horse this campaign. The Ralph yard is firing nicely, and Burke retains the ride after getting a great tune out of him last time.

Everything points towards another big performance. This is the bet of the day.

Has not made the frame very much recently but Lion’s House has ability, has good runs here at this track prior to last two starts and as a result is now on a mark that could bring a return to previous good form. Now 4 below highest winning mark and Kaiya Fraser back aboard which is a positive. Yard in a bit of a downturn recently but Kaiya Fraser and the Perratt stable have a good win rate when combining here at Newcastle. Will take a big return to form to get the win here, but isn’t entirely written off on this mark and the return to Kaiya Fraser aboard could see at the very least a nice price place and with a bit of fortune may just sneak the win.

At a double-figure price, Jokers N Clowns looks a cracking outsider in a race lacking depth. Pulled up on seasonal debut over an overly demanding 2m6f, the shorter trip today looks much more suitable. He should strip fitter, the yard are in excellent form for a small stable, and Lorcan Williams is riding very confidently right now.

If this lad returns to anywhere near his best, he outruns the odds. A proper Dark Horse selection.

Go West has looked very impressive since this time last year winning four of his last five starts, including chase debut on seasonal return lto at Warwick. Runs in the same grade here today, over the same trip and on ideal ground. Likely to take another step forward over fences here today and represents a top yard. Go West is the only horse from the Nicholls yard making the 350mile round trip to Doncaster today and he’s Freddie only ride also. That’s a long way to go to lose. Looks highly progressive, doubt ceiling has been met yet and is fancied to take this.

Talented eight year old from the Snowden yard who has won 6 of his 16 runs. Returned for seasonal debut in the Grand Sefton at Aintree last month and won that race. Likely to strip fitter for the run out and the slight increase from the handicapper doesn’t look enough to completely rule out Colonel Harry winning again. Fell last time he ran here at Cheltenham and will be out for revenge. Looks primed for another big run today and arguments can be made against a lot of the principals chances here. Yard in great form, Gavin Sheehan is a top jockey and 11/1 looks a good price for this boy today.

Trip and ground are ideal, Freddie Gordon aboard and has a very good chance at getting the job done today.

Runs off last winning mark and likely going to see him sat at the rear where he likes to be and should be coming over the top in the final furlong to contest the win. Billy Loughnane back aboard for the first time in a while and that’s a major positive, top jockey with a great record here. Big chance.
