This mark remains workable and excuses can be made for the race lto and Turpin Gold is an obvious choice in this race today. Drops back in trip today which is a positive and the ground is ideal. There isn’t a great deal of threat in this line up and despite being top weight, this looks a comfortable affair for Turpin Gold. Yard have a very strong 38% fortnightly strikerate and on paper this should be another win for them. It’s a weak race and Turpin Gold is a proven winner who remains on a good mark. Should be winning.

Usually a very consistent horse and apart from the little blip lto has form of 1422 prior to that. The return to Brighton today is a big positive, Bear To Dream enjoys it here and has won four times at the course. Is on a very workable mark and in a field of this size, her course experience will stand her in good stead. Yard not in the best form at the moment, but all bad runs come to an end eventually and the yard do have a goodstrike when Tommie Jakes is aboard and so that is a minor plus today. It’s a weak race with the bookies paying 4 places and it would be a surprise to see this mare not run into the places and she is capable of winning if things fall into place.

Thrice raced two year old who has posted three good efforts so far with form of 224. The fourth lto is excusable as it was on the AW and over a further furlong. Drops back to usual 6f and back on turf here today and that makes her a major player. The short favourite in the market has only ran once and didn’t look a world beater in their debut and so Boss Lady has every chance here. She’s been a consistent and progressive performer and a win is round the corner, if not today. Well drawn and Taryn Langley takes off 5lb with her apprentice claim. Big chance to get first win.

Interesting race here with a very shortly priced odds on frankel colt heading the market and that leaves value elsewhere. One of interest is Devil’s Brigade from the Dunlops. Was clearly green in the first half of his debut race at Yarmouth but flourished towards the end and ran on brilliantly into 5th from the very back. Lots to like from that performance and is likely to come on leaps and bounds here on second start. Rossa Ryan aboard and he has a very strong record here at Chelmsford and wins a quarter of all races there aboard Dunlop trained horses. The Frankel colts this season haven’t really been all that and that showed on debut for the shorty in this race. Yes likely to improve, but theres a case to be made that he doesn’t win today and Devil’s Brigade at 8/1 is good value. Big chance here from a good draw and the extra distance from last time should suit, he appeared to have tons left in the tank when storming home on debut.

Low mileage three year old who was consistently placing before a bad run in May where he came 7th. Decision was taken to have a gelding op and on his first run back lto he finished a close second. Bound to take a big step forward now fresh from that run out and still very unexposed in only his third handicap today. On a good mark, from a yard in great form with a good record and has a good booking in Cieren Fallon. Draw isn’t ideal, but Fallon is experienced and should put Captain Parma where he needs to be at the break and from there he has a great chance at winning this.

Very nicely bred youngster who was highly regarded to begin with and was sent into Group races in first couple of starts. Was a bit outclassed in those but not disgraced and has been handicapping the last two starts. Neither handicap start so far has been overly promising, but as a result he has flown down the weights and is on a very good mark in this race which is also another drop in class. From a top yard in good form and has an inform jockey aboard in Mr De Sousa. This three year old is going to win very soon and today looks his best chance so far. Major player at rather generous odds.
