Reason for Tip

Unexposed three year old from the powerful Charlie Johnston stable who has only raced four times so far with form of 4342 and the run lto slightly upped in trip was a huge positive. Pride Of Donegal looked suited to the extra yardage and went very close to winning against a 1/7 favourite. Upped slightly in trip again today and that frankly seems a positive on breeding and form so far and goes handicapping on a quite a generous mark and in quite a weak race. Well drawn to get a good early position and there isn’t a whole lot in this lineup that looks overly threatening to this colts chances. Jockey booking isn’t the strongest, however there is a chance this is quite simply a steering job and shouldn’t need too much in the way of talent to get the job done. Should win.

Haader may have been frustrating to back with two runner-up finishes to his name, but both runs have been full of promise. The form looks strong, and this looks a slightly easier assignment compared to his recent efforts. First-time All-Weather shouldn’t be a problem — he’s related to multiple AW winners — and his breeding suggests he’ll handle it well. He has the best form in the race, represents a top yard in great form, and has Callum Rodriguez aboard, who has an excellent record when teaming up with Bethell. This looks like the ideal opportunity to get off the mark.

Reason for Tip

For a Class 3 at York, this race isn’t as strong as it could of been and one that looks ripe to take advantage of that is two year old Quantum Power from the Clover yard. Quantum Power is one of the most unexposed horses in this race and has already been very progressive on first three starts culminating in a smartly won race at Beverley lto. Open to much further progression here on Handicap debut and whilst this is much warmer waters than previous races, there is a chance he improves beyond a lot of this field. Has an inform jockey aboard in Silvestre De Sousa and there is plenty to like about Quantum Power’s chances today. Big chance for a nice priced place or winner.

This wide-open Class 6 handicap at Brighton could be ripe for a surprise. A Pint Of Bear is a seven-year-old who’s now down to a career-low mark of 52, having previously won off 75. He hasn’t shown much in recent starts on the All-Weather, but the return to Brighton — where he’s a two-time course winner — is a big plus. Apprentice Mikkel Mortensen claims a valuable 5lb and boasts a 25% strike rate at Brighton. From a good draw and with this mark, he could easily outrun his odds. A big price in an open contest and one that could sneak into the places or better.

Reason for Tip

Quite an open race this one at Chepstow but the one who appeals most is top weight six year old Fasol from the Nicholls yard. Fasol has been contesting hot races recently and doing so in good style including a win at Taunton in March and a 3rd at Sandown in a Class 2 handicap on last start. That last start was back in April so does have a break to contend with but Paul Nicholls has a 23% strikerate with horses returning from a break of 60or more days and so no great concern. Fasol if going well fresh has more than enough ability to take this race and has the benefit of stably jockey Harry Cobden aboard who has an exceptional record here. Looks a major player.

Reason for Tip

Two year old from the Balding yard who has been nothing short of highly progressive since debut in June. Form reads 3321 and he looked better than ever when winning very comfortably from the front at Chester lto. This is a warmer race and there is some strong horses contesting this Class 2, but Ghost Mode looks to get better and better on every start and i don’t think we’ve seen his ceiling yet. Is drawn very well in stall 2 to get out nicely and another front running performance wouldn’t be a surprise, and is suited to York also. Represents a major yard who have a good record here and Ghost Mode is a big threat today on course debut.

Exciting looking race this 4.45 at Newmarket and one who catches the eye is Victory Queen, a three year old half sister to 2000 Guineas winner Coroebus who has looked very strong in her first career starts too. Won first two starts nicely at the start of the season in Class two events and has ran very creditably in two listed events recently that put her right in the mix here today at Newmarket. Has won here previously and seems to enjoy the track and this distance looks ideal today and so does the ground. Represents a powerful yard who have a fantastic record here at Newmarket of 30% and when Buick and Appleby combine here at this track, they win 34% of the time. Victory Queen is good value here at 8/1 and has a very good chance of getting the job done back at Newmarket.

Wesam is an unexposed four year old who won nicely on debut at Newcastle despite looking quite green at stages. Likely to take a notable step forward on second start and shrug off that greenness from debut and that puts Wesam as a major threat here today. There is one ahead of Wesam in the betting at the moment and that’s a notable debutant from the Appleby yard however Wesam is taken to improve a lot from that debut start and beat that newcomer. Hector Crouch aboard for Wesam and Hector is a man in form with a fortnightly 29% strikerate and he has a good course record to boot. The ever shrewd Saaed Bin Suroor has a 33% 14 day strikerate, exceptional course record and they share a 50% strikerate when combining here at Kempton. Big chance.
