BMW Championship 2025 Betting Tips, Predictions & Course Preview

The second round of the FedEx comes from Caves Valley just outside of Baltimore the second of the three FedEx Cup Playoff events, it features the top 50 players in FedEx Cup standings, with the top 30 moving on to the season-ending Tour Championship. Designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio, the course spans roughly 962 acres of rolling hills, forests, pastures, and wetlands.

 

It’s celebrated for fast bentgrass greens, multi-tiered smaller greens, dramatic elevation changes, and strategic hazards. Playing a total yardage of 7,601 yards and a par 70 this stunning course will provide a tough test for golfs elite this week.

After seven runner-up finishes a first PGA Tour title seemed like it would never arrive for Cameron Young, but he finally made his breakthrough at the Wyndham Championship two starts ago and he followed that up with a fifth-placed effort at the St. Jude Championship.The American’s confidence levels have gone up a notch since that success and he will fancy his chances of negotiating this tricky test at Caves Valley Golf Club, which is a long track at just over 7,600 yards.It was four years ago when this venue last hosted the BMW and there were two areas which really stood out that week, driving distance and putting, and Young has impressed in both of those departments this season.The 28-year-old is eighth in driving distance, fifth in putting average and seventh in strokes gained putting, so he looks to have the skillset required to lift the trophy this week and move on to the Tour Championship.

Not an outstanding year for Ludvig despite winning earlier in the season his last 3 tournaments have seen him finish inside the top 10 a strong end to the season is on the cards ahead of the Ryder Cup in Bethpage.25th, 14th and 12th in his last three starts in SG Tee-to-Green, he is clearly trending in the right direction with his all-round game, and it looks like the early season injury concerns are now fully behind him.

BMW Championship 2025 Course Preview

Olympia Fields Country Club’s North Course in Illinois is a par-70 layout measuring around 7,350 yards. Designed by Willie Park Jr. and restored by Mark Mungeam, it’s a true championship test — narrow fairways bordered by thick rough, strategic bunkering, and quick bentgrass greens that demand precision.

 

The course plays long for a par 70, with two challenging par 5s and several lengthy par 4s where distance control is vital. Water hazards and undulating greens add to the difficulty, and history suggests winning scores rarely dip much below -10. If the wind picks up, expect scoring to tighten even further.

 

BMW Championship History & Past Winners

The BMW Championship replaced the Western Open in 2007 as part of the FedExCup Playoffs. Since then, it has been staged at various prestigious venues, often producing dramatic finishes. Olympia Fields last hosted in 2020, where Jon Rahm edged Dustin Johnson in a playoff after both finished at 4-under par — a clear sign of just how tough this course can be.
