Wyndham Championship 4 to watch

Competition: AIG Women’s Open
Dates: Thursday 31 July to Sunday 3 August
Venue: Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, South Wales
Start Time: 6:30am BST / 1:30am EDT
How to Watch: UK coverage on Sky Sports Golf from 12pm, with highlights on BBC. US viewers can watch on USA Network and NBC.

The final women’s major of the year heads to the South Wales coast, with Royal Porthcawl hosting the AIG Women’s Open for the first time. It’s also the first time the event has ever been staged in Wales, adding a historic edge to the week.

The course is a true test. Set on the Bristol Channel, Royal Porthcawl is a classic links layout with sweeping fairways, deep bunkers, tricky green complexes and the kind of unpredictable British weather that makes scoring a real challenge. At just over 7,000 yards and playing as a par 72, this track will demand smart course management. Club selection is critical here — a hole that needs a 7-iron one day might need a 4-iron the next.

Ruoning Yin paying 6 places.

30/1

Reason for Tip

A major winner back in 2023 winning the PGA Ruoning is a big shout for the tournament especially on the back of her T2 place at last year’s open at St Andrews and her ability to combat the course conditions and challenging winds here. Ruoning Yin is currently one of the in-form players on the LPGA Tour. With two major top 5 finishes in 2025, strong links form, and high consistency, she’s a serious contender to win the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl—even though she hasn’t yet claimed that title. Expect her to be near the top of the leaderboard.

Minjee Lee paying 6 places.

16/1

Reason for Tip

Minjee Lee is among the top contenders for the 2025 AIG Women’s Open. With her peak form, three major titles, savvy links play and putting advantage, she is very much in contention to complete the final leg of a career Grand Slam—a feat that would cement her legacy. Fresh off winning the KPMG women’s PGA in June winning her 3rd major, she’s a big player here. She has just recently changed her putter to a broomstick putter and its totally changed her game on fast greens.

Nelly Korda paying 6 places.

9/1

Reason for Tip

Nelly Korda is still among the most formidable players heading into Royal Porthcawl. While her 2025 is winless so far, her statistical dominance, elite long game, and major consistency make her a strong contender. If she can sharpen her putting and maintain her physical health, a breakthrough win at the AIG Women’s Open is entirely within reach. Nelly is an elite ball striker and is leading the way on tour on the tee to green rankings.

Lydia Ko paying 6 places.

33/1

Reason for Tip

Lydia Ko continues to be one of the most formidable contenders at Royal Porthcawl. With her recent win and proven links credentials, she has both pedigree and momentum on her side. While her mid-season results show some inconsistency, the early-season display and past major victories make her a leading candidate to defend her title especially if she regains full stroke-play rhythm and fresh tournament-wide consistency. Big each way chance and definitely one to keep eyes on.
