Celta Vigo v Lyon
4/1

12 Mar 20:00 - Celta vs Lyon - Europa League
12 Mar 20:00
Celta vs Lyon - Europa League

Celta Win

Match Result
28/25

Reason for Tip

Celta Vigo are traditionally a very competitive side when playing at the Balaídos, where their attacking approach and quick movement in the final third allow them to build strong momentum in front of their home supporters. They often control possession and create chances through patient build-up play combined with direct runs from wide areas. Lyon possess technical quality and experience in European fixtures, but playing away in Spain can be difficult against teams that move the ball quickly and attack with intensity. Celta’s ability to dictate the tempo of the match and create sustained pressure in the attacking third provides strong support for selecting a home victory.

Celta vs Lyon - Europa League

Over 2.5 Goals

Over 2.5 Goals
51/50

Reason for Tip

Both teams have attacking players capable of creating and finishing chances, which can lead to an open contest with multiple scoring opportunities. Celta’s forward play often focuses on quick passing combinations around the penalty area and crosses from wide positions, generating regular attempts on goal. Lyon are also known for their attacking style and ability to produce chances through fast transitions and technical midfield play. When two sides with positive attacking philosophies meet, the game can become open with opportunities at both ends, supporting the selection of over 2.5 total goals.

Over 7.5 Corners

Over 7.5 Corners
43/100

Reason for Tip

Both teams frequently attack through the wings, which naturally increases the number of corners during matches. Celta’s wide players often drive toward the byline and deliver crosses into the box, forcing defenders to clear the ball behind for corners. Lyon also utilise pace on the flanks and regularly deliver balls into the penalty area when building attacking moves. Sustained pressure in the final third from both teams can result in multiple blocked crosses and defensive clearances, making a total of over 7.5 corners a realistic outcome.

Borja Iglesias 1+ Shots on Target

Player 1+ Shots On Target
4/9

Reason for Tip

Borja Iglesias plays a central role in Celta Vigo’s attack, operating as a physical and intelligent centre-forward who regularly positions himself in goal-scoring areas inside the penalty box. His strength allows him to hold up play and bring teammates into attacking moves, while his movement inside the area helps him create shooting opportunities from crosses and through balls. Because Celta frequently deliver balls into the box and build attacks around their striker, Iglesias often finds himself in positions to attempt shots on goal, making him a strong candidate to record at least one shot on target in this match.

12 Mar 17:45 - Stuttgart vs Porto - Europa League
12 Mar 17:45
Stuttgart vs Porto - Europa League

Stuttgart Win

Match Result
28/25

Reason for Tip

VfB Stuttgart have developed into a very dangerous attacking side, particularly when playing at home where their high-energy style and quick forward transitions often put visiting teams under sustained pressure. Stuttgart typically play with intensity through midfield and look to move the ball quickly into wide areas, creating chances through overlapping runs and fast combinations in the final third. Porto are a technically strong and experienced European side, but playing away in Germany against a team that presses aggressively can make it difficult to control the tempo of the match. Stuttgart’s attacking momentum and home advantage provide strong reasoning for selecting a Stuttgart victory.

Stuttgart vs Porto - Europa League

Over 2.5 Goals

Over 2.5 Goals
81/100

Reason for Tip

Matches involving Stuttgart frequently produce multiple goals due to their proactive attacking approach and willingness to commit players forward. Their forwards and attacking midfielders constantly look to break defensive lines with quick movement and direct running, which regularly leads to chances inside the penalty area. Porto are also capable of creating opportunities through quick transitions and technical attacking play, meaning they can contribute offensively when space opens up. When two sides with strong attacking qualities meet, the game can become open with chances for both teams, supporting the selection of over 2.5 goals.

Stuttgart vs Porto - Europa League

Over 8.5 Corners

Over 8.5 Corners
4/7

Reason for Tip

Both Stuttgart and Porto regularly build attacks through wide areas of the pitch, which naturally increases the number of corner kicks generated during matches. Stuttgart often deliver crosses into the penalty area through their wide players and overlapping full-backs, forcing defenders into clearances behind goal. Porto also utilise wing play and wide deliveries when pushing forward, creating additional pressure on opposing defences. With both teams expected to spend time attacking and delivering balls into the box, the number of defensive blocks and clearances can lead to a corner total exceeding 8.5.

Angelo Stiller to be Carded

Player To Be Carded
5/1

Reason for Tip

Angelo Stiller plays a key role in Stuttgart’s midfield, often operating in a deeper position where he is responsible for breaking up opposition attacks and controlling the tempo of the game. Players in this role frequently make tactical fouls to stop counterattacks or disrupt dangerous attacking moves in midfield. Because Stuttgart’s system involves pressing and competing strongly for possession in central areas, Stiller is often involved in physical challenges and defensive interventions. This type of midfield responsibility can increase the likelihood of cautions during competitive matches, making him a strong candidate to receive a card.

Coventry Win

Match Result
9/20

Reason for Tip

Coventry City have developed a strong reputation as a well-organised and energetic side, particularly when playing at home where they tend to control the tempo of matches through aggressive pressing and quick transitions. Their attacking structure allows them to create chances from both wide areas and central midfield runs, often putting visiting teams under sustained pressure. Preston North End can be competitive but have historically found it difficult to impose themselves away from home against teams that move the ball quickly and attack with pace. Coventry’s ability to build attacking momentum in front of their home supporters makes the home win a strong selection.

Sustained attacking pressure, blocked crosses, and defensive interventions can quickly lead to a number of corner kicks. Ephron Mason-Clark to Score

Anytime Goalscorer
41/20

Reason for Tip

Ephron Mason-Clark provides Coventry with pace, direct running, and creativity in the attacking third. Operating from wide positions or cutting inside toward goal, he regularly looks to take on defenders and create shooting opportunities for himself. His movement and dribbling ability allow him to exploit space behind defences, particularly when Coventry transition quickly from midfield into attack. Mason-Clark is also heavily involved in Coventry’s forward play around the penalty area, which gives him multiple opportunities to get into scoring positions and makes him a strong candidate to find the net in this fixture.

11 March – 20:00 | Parc des Princes

UEFA Champions League

Match Preview

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain welcome Chelsea to the Parc des Princes for what promises to be one of the standout ties of the Champions League last 16.

PSG were forced to navigate the playoff round after an inconsistent league-phase campaign saw them finish 11th. Luis Enrique’s men won just one of their final five matches in that stage before edging past Monaco 5-4 on aggregate in a dramatic all-French showdown.

Despite those wobbles, PSG’s European pedigree remains strong. They have lost just one of their last eight matches against English opposition in UEFA competition (W5 D2), and their home record in knockout football continues to make Paris one of the toughest trips in Europe.

Chelsea, meanwhile, finished sixth in the 36-team league phase, collecting five wins from eight matches. Since a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Napoli, the Blues have built steady momentum, winning five of their last nine games in all competitions.

Notably, Chelsea have won their last six UEFA encounters with French opposition — a record that adds extra intrigue to this heavyweight clash.

With both sides stacked with attacking talent and defensive absentees on either side, this first leg has all the makings of an open, high-quality European battle.

Bodø/Glimt Win

Match Result
81/50

Reason for Tip

Bodø/Glimt have built a strong reputation in European competition thanks to their high-intensity attacking style and formidable home record at the Aspmyra Stadion. The Norwegian side play with aggressive pressing, quick combinations in midfield, and constant attacking runs from wide areas, which often overwhelms visiting teams unfamiliar with the conditions in northern Norway. Their ability to move the ball quickly and create chances through both central and wide channels has allowed them to compete strongly against larger European clubs in recent seasons. Playing at home on an artificial surface that they know well also gives them an additional advantage, supporting the selection of a Bodø/Glimt victory.

Both sides possess strong attacking qualities that can lead to goal-scoring opportunities. Sporting CP, meanwhile, are traditionally one of the most technically gifted teams in Portugal and often create opportunities through fluid attacking play and creative midfield combinations. When two teams with positive attacking philosophies meet, the game frequently becomes open with chances at both ends, making both teams to score a strong possibility.

Bodø/Glimt’s attacking system relies heavily on width and quick overlapping runs, which often results in crosses being delivered into the box and defenders being forced to clear the ball behind for corners. Sporting CP also attack through wide areas and wing play, particularly when pushing forward in search of goals. Sustained attacking phases, blocked crosses, and defensive clearances from both sides can quickly increase the number of corner kicks during a match. With both teams likely to spend time attacking and delivering balls into the penalty area, the total corner count has a strong chance of exceeding 8.5.

European fixtures involving competitive and high-tempo teams often produce several fouls as players attempt to break up attacking moves and regain possession. Sporting CP are also an intense and competitive side, particularly in midfield battles where challenges are frequent as both teams try to control the game. 11 March – 20:00 | Allianz Arena

UEFA Champions League

Match Preview

Bayer Leverkusen welcome Arsenal to Germany for a mouthwatering Champions League last-16 first leg.

Leverkusen navigated their playoff tie professionally, beating Olympiacos 2-0 away before settling for a goalless draw at home to progress. However, recent form has been patchy — just one win in their last five matches in all competitions — including a chaotic 3-3 Bundesliga draw with Freiburg.

That said, their home form paints a far more positive picture. Die Werkself are unbeaten in six matches at the BayArena, conceding just once in that run. Defensive solidity on home soil could prove key against an Arsenal side who have been ruthless in Europe.

Arsenal were dominant in the league phase, finishing first with eight straight wins. Mikel Arteta’s men scored 23 goals — the most in the competition — and conceded just four, underlining their balance at both ends.

The Gunners travel to Germany on the back of four consecutive wins in all competitions and will see this tie as a genuine opportunity to take control early.

Old Park Star

J: N de Boinville T: N J Henderson
Race Winner
5/2

Reason for Tip

The Supreme is a race where youth and fitness have found continued success. The stats indicate that 19 of the last 21 winners were aged five or six, and 23 of the last 31 winners had run within the 45 days prior to the race. Furthermore, winners typically arrive with a high level of proven ability, with 12 of the last 13 winners winning at single figure odds. For the 2026 renewal, the market is spearheaded by the Nicky Henderson-trained Old Park Star, who is currently priced at around 2/1. Henderson has an exemplary record in this race, having secured five victories over a forty-year period with horses such as River Ceirog, Altior, Shishkin, and Constitution Hill. The Irish challenge is traditionally robust, with J P O’Brien fielding Talk The Talk, a horse who was set to win the Grade 1 Future Champions Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown before falling at the final flight. Talk the talk probably sets the standard for the Irish contingent if his jumping remains consistent but Old Park Star is going to be a tough nut to crack.

Singer Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices' Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race) - Cheltenham

Lulamba

J: N de Boinville T: N J Henderson
Race Winner
42/25

Reason for Tip

The Arkle Chase is the premier two-mile event for novice chasers, emphasizing speed, clean jumping, and the ability to maintain both of those over 13 fences. It is named after the legendary three-time Gold Cup winner, Arkle. The Arkle is a race that rarely produces big priced winners. 24 of the last 26 winners returned at odds of 9/1 or shorter. There is a strong correlation between success and previous Festival experience; with 15 of the last 22 winners having competed at the Cheltenham Festival the previous year. The 2026 Arkle is framed as a narrative of redemption for Lulamba, trained by Nicky Henderson. Having been narrowly defeated in the 2025 Triumph Hurdle as a short-priced favorite, Lulamba has transitioned to chasing with a fire in his belly. He has won both starts over fences by nearly ten lengths, including a Grade 1 success in the Henry VIII at Sandown. Henderson, who has won the Arkle eight times, is likely to be very confident of success with Lulamba but he is already short in the market at 5/4.The primary opposition is expected to come from Mullins, who has won six of the last eleven Arkle’s. His main representative, Kopek Des Bordes, is highly regarded despite having only one run over fences. That run was a dominant success at Navan, but it remains to be seen if he can reel in Lulamba in what is a much deeper race than the Navan victory.

McCoy Contractors Juvenile Handicap Hurdle (Premier Handicap) (Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle) (GBB Race) - Cheltenham

Saratoga

J: Mark Walsh T: P Roche
Race Winner
8/1

Reason for Tip

The Juvenile Handicap is a Premier Handicap restricted to four-year-old novices. It is frequently thought of as one of the most unpredictable races of the week, often won by horses who have been specifically plotted for a favorable handicap mark for this race. Unlike most of the Grade 1 contests, the Juvenile Handicap often rewards horses from the bottom half of the weights. Statistics show that 10 of the last 15 winners came from the lower end of the handicap. Interestingly, French-bred horses have an exceptional record, with 10 of the last 21 winners having started their careers over the channel. Winston Junior and Saratoga currently head the market and on paper for good reason, however as eluded to previously, this race is generally pretty wide open and there’s value to be found. Genealogy, currently 25/1 in the market, trained by Denis Hogan, is particularly noteworthy as a recruit from the flat, where he was rated in the mid 90’s for Aidan O’Brien. This profile aligns well for this race and with previous winners such as Band Of Outlaws, and his recent second-place finish at Ascot suggests he is well-treated ahead of this race.

Trustmarque Ultima Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) - Cheltenham

Resplendent Grey

J: S Bowen T: O Murphy
Race Winner
25/1

Reason for Tip

The Ultima is a Grade 3 Handicap run over three miles and one furlong, featuring 20 fences. It is famously difficult for Irish trainers, who have failed to secure a recent victory in this race and are currently 0-for-51 since 2006. The race typically favors first or second-season chasers who have already demonstrated a liking for the Cheltenham fences. 13 of the last 17 winners had run at a previous Cheltenham Festival before going on to win an Ultima. It’s a strong looking race for Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero who train both the market leaders in Jagwar and Iroko. They are currently 5/1 and 6/1 respectively. After winning the Plate last season, Jagwar was campaigned toward the Ryanair Chase before his connections pivoted to the Ultima. Jagwar sits near the top of the weights but is regarded as a horse with Grade 1 potential still competing in a handicap environment. Iroko stormed up the hill to win the Martin Pipe here back in 2023 and has proven himself to be a talented and versatile horse on a number of occasions since, including a fourth placed finish in last year’s Grand National. He won his race before Christmas at Ascot and looks promising for this Ultima. If you’re looking for better value than Iroko or Jagwar, then Resplendent Grey is worth shortlisting. Has put in some good staying performances in the last 12 months including wins at Sandown and Carlisle and a second place last time out at Windsor behind Protektorat. He represents the Olly Murphy yard who are having a fine year and at 25/1 looks a nice price.

Unibet Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy (Grade 1) (GBB Race) - Cheltenham

Lossiemouth

J: Paul Townend T: W P Mullins
Race Winner
99/50

Reason for Tip

The race of the day, the center-piece and main attraction of Day 1 is the Grade 1 Unibet Champion Hurdle, contested over two miles and 87 yards with eight hurdles to jump. This race is the definitive championship for two-mile hurdlers and in recent years has a very strong record for favorites, who have won 83% of the renewals over the last six years, the outlier there was last year when Golden Ace got up at 25/1 in a very dramatic Champion Hurdle. The 2026 renewal takes place in the immediate wake of the retirement of Constitution Hill from jumps racing. Whatever your opinion of that horse, he is arguably the greatest hurdler of the modern era. After a career marked by ten straight victories, including the 2023 Champion Hurdle, a series of falls and health issues led trainer Nicky Henderson to withdraw him from the 2026 race and after his dominance the other night on his flat debut, is now embarking on a flat campaign, however I am sure the racing world will miss his involvements in the Champion Hurdle greatly but have fond memories. Furthermore, the early-season favorite Sir Gino suffered a season-ending injury in January, and so what we thought the Champion Hurdle might look like is now a little different. There are a few obvious key players here and we start with The New Lion, a seven year old gelding by Kayf Tara who has emerged as the leading British hope. Despite falling two hurdles from home while leading the Fighting Fifth in November, his victory in the Grade 2 International Hurdle at Cheltenham in January restored faith in his credentials. Trainer Dan Skelton has noted the horse’s exceptional physical condition, stating he is “in absolutely fantastic” shape and possesses the stamina required for a championship race run at a strong gallop. The New Lion’s speed analysis during his International Hurdle win suggests he has the gears necessary for the minimum trip despite his previous success over further distances. The Irish challengers feature Brighterdaysahead and Lossiemouth. Brighterdaysahead has seen her odds collapse to 5/2 or 3/1 following a dominant victory in the Irish Champion Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival. Representing Gordon Elliott, she reversed previous form with Lossiemouth, showing she can handle a fast pace and jump with precision under pressure. As a mare, she benefits from the 7-pound allowance, a factor that has historical significance given that five of the last ten winners have been mares.Lossiemouth, a nine-time Grade 1 winner for Willie Mullins, remains a formidable threat. While she disappointed in heavy ground at the Dublin Racing Festival, she is the winner of the last two Mares’ Hurdles at the Festival and is noted for her consistency, having never placed outside the top two in any completed race. I am hoping this is the year we see Lossiemouth contest the Champion Hurdle after she’s ducked it to the Mares on previous occasions. She remains a world class horse and returning to Cheltenham on what is hopefully more favourable ground, if she runs in this race, she looks very tempting at 11/4 at the time of writing. Golden Ace has to be mentioned given her dramatic win in this race 12 months ago and she’s not been outside the top two in her four races since, including her win at 22/1 in the Fighting Fifth. She’s solidified herself as a talented horse who will clean up if there’s trouble to the principals and can rough it with the best of them and can’t be written out of this. As the Cheltenham Roar echoes across the Cotswolds at 16.00pm on March 10th, it will mark the beginning of a fascinating renewal of a race we’ve all come to love and we can’t wait to see it play out.

Madara

J: Harry Skelton T: D Skelton
Race Winner
41/10

Reason for Tip

With its relocation to Champion Day, the Plate becomes the primary handicap chase for mid-distance specialists on the opening card. It is run over two miles and four furlongs on the Old Course, requiring the navigation of 17 fences and the engine to run at a decent gallop and finish strongly up the hill. Success in the Plate is often found among horses rated between 139 and 145. Historically, winners have a strong record of having run within the 3 months prior to the Festival.11of the last 12 winners had at least 3 runs that season, 9 of the last 12 had at least one previous run at Cheltenham and 13 of the last 17 winners carried under 11st. Madara, currently trading at 5/1, is the primary selection for many folks pre race selections and for good reason.Trained by Dan Skelton, he was specifically targeted for this race following a close effort in the Paddy Power Gold Cup. Jagwar is also a significant entry here if he bypasses the Ultima but I have a feeling from what we’ve been hearing from connections that the Ultima is the likely choice. Madara could be tough to peg back, and if Jagwar does indeed dodge the Plate, then some dark horses who should contest at nice prices include Twinjets (16/1) and Vincenzo (10/1). Twinjets loves this trip and is versatile to ground and represents a powerful yard with Harry Cobden likely aboard for the ride. Vincenzo has looked progressive this term and likely to come on further and both of these are likely to feature at a price.

Wade Out

J: S Bowen T: O Murphy
Race Winner
10/1

Reason for Tip

The closing race of Day 1 is the National Hunt Challenge Cup, a marathon contest over three miles and six furlongs. This race is arguably the ultimate test of endurance for novice chasers, featuring 23 fences the horses will need to overcome before running out at the end. The National Hunt Chase has a distinct profile, favoring horses with extreme stamina and the ability to jump accurately when fatigued. It has long served as a trial for the Gold Cup and the Grand National, with previous winners like Minella Rocco and Galvin going on to perform at the highest level in staying chases. The betting for this year’s renewal is pretty close at the head of the market, with Wade Out, Backmersackme, and Newton Tornado all being at around 5/1-8/1 with Backmersackme being the favourite at the time of writing. Wade Out, trained by Olly Murphy, is particularly interesting as he is generally a very clean and reliable jumper and has proven staying power whilst representing a yard having a very good year so far. Backmersackme represents the shrewd Emmet Mullins yard and looked very good last time out when winning at Leopardstown. Twiston-Davies trained Guard the Moon is a bit of a dark horse for this at 20/1, will stay comfortably and has a good engine, but the question mark is the jumping, if he jumps all 23 fences and stays upright, likely to be in the mix.

Old Park Star

J: N de Boinville T: N J Henderson
Race Winner
5/2

Reason for Tip

The opening race of the 2026 Cheltenham festival and the one who looks the one to beat in the Supreme is six year old Old Park Star from the Henderson yard. After a slow start for Paul Nicholls in bumpers has won his last three races for new yard and did so impressively and progressively which culminated in the win lto in the Grade 2 at Haydock. Remains open to lots of further progress and represents a yard who’ve had plenty of success in this race previously with five victories with horses such as Altior, Shishkin and Constitution Hill. Both trip and ground are very suited and on paper Old Park Star is the one to beat. Related to festival winners and has become a very smart jumper of late. Major player and 5/2 looks a little overpriced i think and so he’s taken to get the job done.

Wind Your Neck In

J: Jonathan England T: S England
Race Winner
3/1

Reason for Tip

Frustrating seven year old who is now 0-13 over hurdles but has been knocking on the door of late with back to back second placed finishes, both over the same trip as today. Looks likely to convert soon and this race looks a good chance. Ground is perfect, it’s a relatively weak race and Wind Your Neck In looks well treated still. It’s the yard and jockeys only race at the course today and whilst they aren’t exactly firing in the winners currently, have won at this course. Very likely this horse is bang in the mix again and a chance is taken on him finally getting over the line in first place. Big player.

Race Winner

Reason for Tip

The 2023 Martin Pipe winner Iroko generally runs well at Cheltenham and has proven himself to be a worthy contestant on a number of occasions. A very respectable fourth in last years Grand National, this versatile eight year old always gives his all, has a fantastic engine and will absolutely stay the 3m1f. Will still have plenty in the tank come the hill and would not be surprised to see him storm up it in the closing stages similar to his win in 2023. Has to be taken seriously off this mark and will relish the forecasted ground. Won lto at Ascot and is in good form. Jonjo O’Neill aboard as usual. Tough race, but Iroko is a tough cookie and there is plenty of positives for him today and has a good chance at a nice price.

Mustang Du Breuil

J: James Bowen T: N J Henderson
Race Winner
25/2

Reason for Tip

Cheltenham Juvenile Handicap time and one who looks a nice price at 12/1 is four year old Mustang Du Breuil from the Henderson yard. Very lightly raced and unexposed and won his debut race in France before coming over here to the Henderson yard. Won stable debut at Doncaster with relative ease in February. Third lto at Kempton in the Grade 2 Novice but at argument can be made that he wasn’t pushed for that, all they needed was to qualify for this race which they did. Looks a smart jumper who’s getting better each race and represents a yard with plenty of festival success over the years who are also rather in form at the moment. James Bowen has been aboard both UK rides and retains that here today. Will be fine on the forecasted good to soft ground and will see out this trip happily. Looks to have a strong engine which is vital for the famous Cheltenham hill and is a very interesting runner in this. Looks to have every chance at a nice price.

Caliban

J: Oisin Murphy T: A M Balding
Race Winner
1/1

Reason for Tip

Progressive four year old son of the Sea The Moon from the Balding yard who has looked better and better each time we’ve seen him. Form of 4421 and the win lto at Kempton in a Class 3 was a great performance. Unlikely we’ve reached the veiling of this youngster yet and this looks a very winnable handicap debut for Caliban. Has ran at this course before and won over this trip lto. Yard have a 32% strikerate in the last 60 days and have shown no signs of slowing down. Oisin Murphy retains the ride from lto and that’s always a strong booking. Looks a very winnable race and i’m not sure anything can really threaten Caliban today, should be the winner.

10 March – 20:00 | St James’ Park

UEFA Champions League

Match Preview

History will be made on Tyneside as Newcastle United host FC Barcelona in their first-ever Champions League last-16 tie.

Newcastle’s 12th-place finish in the league phase was enough to secure qualification for the knockout rounds, marking a major milestone for the club. However, domestic inconsistency continues to cloud their campaign. Eddie Howe’s side have both scored and conceded in each of their last 12 matches in all competitions — entertaining, but chaotic.

Recent results underline that volatility: a dramatic win over Manchester United with 10 men sandwiched between defeats to Everton and Manchester City. Defensive structure remains an issue, but Newcastle’s pace and intensity at St James’ Park can unsettle elite opposition.

Barcelona arrive with attacking swagger. Their league-phase matches produced 36 total goals — the joint-highest tally in the competition — with 22 scored and 14 conceded. Hansi Flick’s side are in strong form, winning four straight in all competitions, and boast an excellent record against English clubs in this stage of the Champions League.

With Newcastle’s open style and Barcelona’s attacking quality, this has the ingredients for a high-scoring European night.

10 March – 20:00 | Riyadh Air Metropolitano

UEFA Champions League

🔍 Match Preview

Atletico Madrid welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano for a blockbuster Champions League knockout clash.

Atletico survived a chaotic playoff tie against Club Brugge, progressing 7-4 on aggregate, but defensive cracks have appeared. Diego Simeone’s side have conceded five goals in their last two matches, although they remain formidable at home — winning four straight and scoring at least three goals in each of those victories.

Tottenham’s domestic campaign has spiralled, but Europe has offered respite. Spurs collected five wins in the league phase, finishing above several European heavyweights. However, Igor Tudor’s side now arrive on the back of five straight defeats in all competitions, increasing pressure ahead of this crucial first leg.

The contrast is striking: Atletico are thriving at home with attacking fluency, while Spurs are searching for confidence but possess genuine pace and threat in transition.

Expect intensity, tactical discipline and moments of chaos — typical of Simeone knockout football.

No Drama This End

J: H Cobden T: P F Nicholls
Race Winner
11/4

Reason for Tip

No Drama This End brings a progressive staying-novice profile into the Turners and has posted ratings this season that put him firmly among the leading contenders. His latest Grade 1 trial performance produced a career-best figure, achieved through strong mid-race cruising speed before staying on powerfully from two out. The Turners often rewards horses who travel comfortably over 2m5f and can sustain pressure up the hill — both attributes he has demonstrated. His hurdling has remained fluent under pace, and his stamina credentials are already proven at this trip. On recent figures and race style suitability, he has a major chance.

Wendigo

J: G Sheehan T: Jamie Snowden
Race Winner
9/1

Reason for Tip

Wendigo has shaped as a staying chaser of high potential and arrives here with one of the strongest novice chase ratings in the field. His latest run over three miles showed improved jumping fluency and a relentless galloping style ideally suited to the demands of the Brown Advisory. This race traditionally rewards stamina and accurate jumping rather than raw pace, and his sectional profile highlights sustained effort from four out. With a proven ability to handle a strong tempo and maintain rhythm at his fences, he sets a high standard among this year’s staying novices.

Jingko Blue

J: James Bowen T: N J Henderson
Race Winner
10/1

Reason for Tip

Jingko Blue enters this competitive handicap off consistent ratings in strong company and appears fairly treated relative to his peak novice efforts. His recent runs show a solid cruising speed and the capacity to travel strongly before delivering a sustained challenge from the final flight. In Premier Handicaps where pace and positioning are decisive, his tactical versatility stands out. His mark does not look prohibitive on comparative figures with others near the top of the weights. In a race often decided by small margins, he rates a reliable each-way contender with upside.

Favori De Champdou

J: Jack Kennedy T: G Elliott
Race Winner
5/2

Reason for Tip

Favori De Champdou has developed into a specialist in cross-country conditions, producing consistent figures over unique obstacle configurations. His recent form in similar contests highlights accurate jumping and the ability to maintain position throughout, two critical components in this discipline. Cross Country races reward rhythm and adaptability, and his profile suggests both are strengths. He has already shown he can handle the Cheltenham banks-style test and remains competitively weighted relative to recent efforts. In a niche contest where experience matters, he looks a strong each-way option.

Ballysax Hank

J: James Bowen T: G P Cromwell
Race Winner
12/1

Reason for Tip

Ballysax Hank has been running consistently in two-mile handicap chases and arrives with ratings that place him squarely in the mix. His latest performances show sharp jumping and the ability to hold a prominent position — often crucial in the Grand Annual, where pace is relentless from flagfall. He travels comfortably at this trip and has recorded closing sectionals that suggest he can finish strongly off a strong gallop. With a mark that still looks workable, he profiles as a solid each-way play in a typically competitive renewal.

Keep Him Company

J: Jack Kennedy T: G Elliott
Race Winner
13/2

Reason for Tip

Keep Him Company has produced one of the stronger bumper ratings of the season and shaped as though the Cheltenham hill would suit his galloping style. His debut success was achieved with a strong late surge after travelling smoothly off a steady tempo. Champion Bumpers often hinge on raw ability and stamina rather than experience alone, and his pedigree suggests further improvement is likely. With an already competitive figure on the board and clear scope to progress again, he enters this Grade 1 with legitimate winning credentials.
