Was a smart win as handicapper only raised her a 1lb and she looks very much well in still. Goes back up to 6f today which is of no concern and shes still very low mileage and so further progression off this mark looks almost a certainty. George Bass aboard and Seven Fires has shown no reason why she wont run another big race. 9/4 looks generous and wouldnt surprise me if that shortens before the off. Asmeralda is one of the most unexposed horses in this race with only one run so far. That debut was at Kempton before Christmas and won nicely. Beautifully bred Night of Thunder filly who is potentially a very nice horse in the making. Will be fine off the break and both trip and ground are suitable. Well drawn in stall 4 and represents a yard who’ve won this six times including last year. Oisin Murphy booking is notable and he has a good record for the Gosdens. This filly has a big chance today and a rather nice price too. Should be heavily involved and certainly not written out of winning this.

Low mileage and progressive type for Charles Hills last year and won twice including over C&D at this meeting last year. Since changed yards and now resides with the Baldings. Very sub par and uncharacteristic run when last seen in October and is taken to bounce back on seasonal reappearance and stable debut today at a track he enjoys. Goes well fresh and has the benefit of Oisin Murphy aboard today. Lots to like and a very good chance.

Winner of this race last year when it was at Cheltenham and makes his defence of the title off 1lb lower today following a string of lesser runs. The 11th place at Cheltenham in the plate lto can be ignored. Was running on very strongly until badly hampered by a faller. Was looking every bit in with a chance that day and is taken to continue that today. Conditions are well suited and represents a top yard in fantastic form. Stable jockey Harry aboard is always a plus and he has a good record here. Major player.

Five year old with form of 03215 who remains on a workable mark and returns to turf today after a winter on the AW. Has posted best efforts on the all weather but is very unexposed on grass and ran well at Redcar last August when third. Is fully fit and primed for a big run today and this largely consistent five year old is taken to be heavily involved once again. Cam Hardie gets the ride and he has a strong record for the yard. Lots to like.

Pretty open race here in the 6.30 and one who looks very much on for a big performance is four year old Shipshape from the Llewelyns. Might be 0-7 but thrived when sent up in trip to 1m6f lto at Wolverhampton. Second that day and yard have seemed to find this horses ideal trip. Gets the same trip today and is unexposed at these longer distances so further improvement highly likely. Great booking in Muscutt and Shipshape looks more than capable of putting in a winning performance today in this race.
