Versatile ground wise, cheekpieces added today for the first time which may have a positive impact as has been a bit inconsistent at times. Ran nicely lto at Wolverhampton when finishing second in a similar race to this. Remains on a good mark and talented Billy Loughnane aboard. Likes to run prominent and that will suit this track and looks the one to beat today.

Won on seasonal debut here at Southwell in April and form of 454 since which has resulted in Philanthropists mark dropping to a shade above that win over C+D. This is a relatively weak race and this boy is likely to relish the return to the tapeta and should figure strongly today. Represents a top yard and Daniel Muscutt is a good booking. Great chance.

This three year old boy has gone close on a few occasions, none more so than his last two starts with a 2nd place and 3rd place including lto here at Southwell. Seems to be on the up recently and Divot will no doubt find winning ways sooner or later and today is a good chance. Well drawn, Saffie gets the ride and Saffie and the Knight yard share a 20% strikerate when put together. Likes to sit midfield or towards the rear and then come on from the break which can work fine here at Southwell and so has a good chance of figuring at the end and may just get the win.

Scintillating form this year from Thunderous Love with 5 wins from 8 runs and the defeats were close too. Handicapper keeps having his say and this four year old keeps answering. Nudged up 4lb from the win lto and on a career high mark but certainly doesn’t look too much of a mountain to climb. Has been progressive and reliable and is the only Portman runner sent on the 300mile round trip to Pontefract. Rob Hornby aboard who hasn’t ridden here a great deal but when he does, has won 40% of his rides. Good chance for another win in what has been a brilliant campaign so far.
