Hakuna Babe

Hakuna Babe was sent off favourite over this trip in a Class 2 at Nottingham last time out and now dropping massively in grade has to be seriously respected. Yet to win but has been running to a very good level with a host of placed efforts and today should be the day that maiden tag is lost.

Executive Decision is of interest here today, dropped back in trip looks a very shrewd move as he just hadn’t got home over further but does like to race forward and may well just get a lead here and be difficult to catch. Acts well on this ground and as a 3 year old against some older rivals he’s open to improve past a few.

Kynsa is an unexposed 3 year old who is now trying a mile for the first time. A good runner-up over the extended 7 furlongs on heavy ground at Ffos Las in August and should appreciate the drop in trip after 2 races over a mile and a quarter in September. Looks to be an improving type for the Osbournes and it’s difficult to see him being far away today.

Pasvolsky

Pasvolsky is the only course and distance winner in the field which always tends to be a positive at Kempton given it’s history of being quite specific. He has won fresh before so not concerned with needing the run and showed great improvement when upped in trip to this distance when winning here on his final race of last season. If he comes here ready to roll should be going very close.

Geryville has been 1st or 2nd in eight races over fences. Come here coming back after a 6 month break but the however he’s run well fresh before and the fact he’s sent over this trip first suggest they don’t have any fitness concerns at home. He had solid form earlier in the year, trip and going will suit, still on a very good looking mark and top jockey Brian Highes is in the saddle, plenty of positives.

San Aer ran on well into third place when last seen over seven furlongs at Naas and the step up to a mile today looks like it will absolutely suit today. No issues wi the the ground and this doesn’t look as strong race, won’t take much winning. Marks very dangerous too.

Gordon Elliot has a very strong hand in this race and with Kennedy booked for Frontal Assault, this would appear to be his best chance. Understandable from a mark of 140, having been beaten a couple of lengths giving away weight on his reappearance last time to a grade 1 winning horse, has to be massively feared here.

Bluestocking threw away victory at Chepstow last month when pulling up in front to allow Al Qareem to come back to win. Al Qareem franked the form of that race with a win here in a Group 3. The trip and ground are fine and hopefully first time headgear help this filly hit the line hard with Rossa Ryan back onboard.

Mostahdaf was the winner of the International 59 days ago here over course and distance. Looks like he’s been targeted for this race having been put away since that win until today. Always run well after a short break, goes on the ground and looks decent value to take this group 1.

Awaal has been holding his form very well of late and is well campaigned in these type of big field handicaps. Soft ground should be no issue for this previous heavy ground winner and James Doyle is a positive booking having finished 112 the 3 times he’s ridden Awaal previously. Has course form in the book and has a decent draw. Should be going close today.

Blazing Son has been a winner and a runner-up twice in four attempts over course and distance. His win coming of a mark of 58 and he’s very well handicapped again today to go close. Andrew Breslin takes the ride and his 3 pounds allowance could prove valuable. Heavy ground will pose no problems as he’s got form in testing conditions and this 5 year old is well up to winning a race of this nature.

Purple Martini

7/1 – 1.5 points EW

Purple Martini another winner over course and distance in April on heavy ground so no concerns about whether he handles the conditions here today. Gets in today on a mark of 62 which is just 2lbs above his last winning mark so very nicely handicapped. Form from the Mussleburgh win has been working out nicely and now dropping back in trip to 6f he’s a big threat.

Massive price here and I don’t think he should be as big as he is. Been running pretty consistently and looks on a great mark now today with the jockeys 7lb claim. Was narrowly beaten by a neck in soft ground off a mark of 60 in July and then went and won 4 days later from same mark. Massive chance from this mark today, especially with 5 places on offer.

Mumayaz hasn’t won since he was training in Ireland however has been producing a series of solid consistent efforts and looks a winner in waiting. Been freshened up with a break here and handles the softer conditions, looks one of Jason Watsons best chances of the day.

Guetapan Collognes is going to relish this stiff 3m in these heavy conditions. A winner on his seasonal debut last season so no concerns about him needing a few runs first. Here today on a mark just 3lbs above his last winning mark so again looks handicapped to win, open race but he’s got plenty of positives about his chances.

Made In Kentuckys connections look to have found a good opportunity here and the booking of Oisin Murphy adds weight to that argument. She was coming off a 4 month break LTO and should be sharper now. She has a 2lb lower mark now and the drop down in trip from 8f to 7f should suit her and this relatively unexposed filly could be set for a big run. Open to plenty of improvement still.

Kitbag has finished a close second in his last two races back in the spring which was on the AW. Unexposed on turf and had been running in deeper races than today and with the jockey’s claim he’s 18lb better off so he looks very well handicapped. Still very unexposed an open to plenty of improvement and the break may have him fresh and ready to go for this one today.

Regheeb was a good winner here on debut on testing ground and was impressive again on latest start at Lingfield in a decent class 3 novice. Looks to have a bit of class about him and on handicap debut here looks a key player considering the form when 7l behind the Arc winner Ace Impact on 2nd start.

More than happy to take two here given the nature of the race and the 6 places available. Step Back In Time has ran well in all of his last 3 efforts winning here over 5f on yielding then finishing 4th at Leopardstown over 6f, conditions right up his street here and with a clear run goes close. Stanhope was extremely unlucky last time out when squeezed then lost numerous places before rallying again to finish 6th, looks set to go close today at a venue he loves with ideal conditions.

Lisieux has been holding form well lately in some competitive races and although the losing run is betting bigger there is nothing to really put you off thinking she’s going to be winning again soon. Form level is solid, has run well on softer ground, still open to plenty of improvement and this looks a weaker race than previous assignments. Plenty of juice about the price and with 4 places on offer should be running into the money at the very least.
